What's new...

So after harrassment from my big time blogger buddies, I am giving into peer pressure and I am attempting to really get into this world of blogging! So, here we go...
So much has happened in our lives in the past couple of months. Our little baby turned one! I can't believe that it has been a year since she came into this world. We had a fun birthday party with a bunch of her friends, well, actually a bunch of our friends, but it just so happens that most of them have kids around her age! She is officially a toddler, I guess, we have moved up to the "Toddler 411" book, basically a survival guide for parents given to us by our pediatrician! Addison is curious about everything and definitely keeps us busy. Her little personality is just blossoming, and it is so exciting to really get a glimpse of who God has created her to be. We had our first discipline issue yesterday. I guess at some point you see that these innocent little creatures do have a sinful nature in there. Addie did not want her diaper changed, so out of anger, she hit me in the head with a plastic Easter Egg. Funny, yes, I know, my mom had to walk out of the room, and I had to hold back my laughter so that I could address the situation. I am really starting to see what this whole parenting thing is about. It is challenging, but I am learning more everyday, and I know that this is what I was created to do!
It is so neat to see the way that God is using our experiences recently to teach us more about who we are as followers of Christ, and also who He is as the God that we serve. We recognize more each day how blessed we are to be surrounded by the amazing friends that we have, and we are so thankful for our awesome church! God is good. Even through the tough times, He is faithful. I am learning also, especially in my journey as a mother, that I don't have to fit this perfect image of what the world tells us is a good mother who has it all together. Above all, I want my children to know that they are loved, not only by the people in their life, but by a God who made them just the way they are, perfect.
