We had a blast at Mother Goose Time this week! Laling and Bella joined us, and the girls were precious. They are such cute little friends. They wore themselves out, and I loved getting to spend time with Laling, what a joy!
We also had a great time with our friends the Pitts and the Bassetts! We grilled out, hoping that it would be nice to dine outside since the day before it was in the 80s, but to our dismay, it was COLD!!! So, we watched the cute girls and just laughed and talked. Good friends are such a blessing! I love my husband so much. He is such a hard worker, and he never complains. He loves to provide for his family, and I am so thankful for that. He is such a godly example to Addie and me. Adam has a strong calling to teach and lead the body of Christ in worship, and I am so thankful to the Lord that He has blessed us with the opportunity to be a part of a church where Adam can explore this passion. Another one of Adam's passions, however, is plants. I know, it sounds funny, but he LOVES it. And it just so happens, that he is, as of this week, a GARDEN ASSOCIATE at Home Depot, along with his job at CityView. So, of course, he came home with a bunch of plants this week. We worked in the yard today, and Addie "helped" us. As Adam would put dirt in a bucket, she would take it right back out and put it in the dirt pile! We had such a good day! She was so adorable with her shovel. I am crazy about my family!

Happy Easter

Today was a good Easter Sunday! Our pastor, Rick, really challenged us to remember that the resurrection of Jesus is should matter to us everyday, not only on Easter. It is what makes the gospel, the gospel. It was a special day! We had a lot of time with friends and family. Addie had three Easter egg hunts, so by the end of the day, she was a pro! She looked so adorable in her sweet little Easter dress. It is crazy to look at Easter last year, then this year, and see how much that little princess has grown! In her Easter basket, she got a shovel and pail, sidewalk chalk, a frisbee, and a new ball. She was so excited! She was running so fast to see her new goodies that the picture was just a blur, it was quite exciting!

Spring Break 2008!

We had a fun trip on our Spring Break! We got to go with Grammy, Poppy, and of course, Aunt "Tata" to Port Aransas. Of all of the places that we have been, this is one of Adam and mine's most favorite! It holds some very special memories for us. We had a good time just being with family, seeing the beach, playing games, and of course, lots of eating! The weather was a little cool, but we got Addie out in the sand and let her put her little feet in the water, so precious. Addie got to see lots of "boats" and "fishies." These were her two favorite words the whole week!

We took a trip to the Crazy Cajun, where my grandfather ordered 15 pounds of crawfish, 9 pounds of crablegs, not to mention, the corn, shrimp, dirty rice, oh my goodness... Addie thought it was great, she wasn't the only one making a huge mess!!!

Play Time!

We have had lots of play time over the last week! It's so much fun to watch kids, its all about play to them! Last week, I got to see my precious roommate from college, Leslie! It was so much fun, I can't wait until our GIRLS WEEKEND in April! Then, this weekend, we had a fun italian potluck with our friends, Addie got to play with one of her favorite friends, Elizabeth, and we got to spend time with some of Adam's high school friends. This week, another one of my college friends, Charla, came to see me. We had so much fun reminiscing! We thank God that we are not who we were in college! But, oh, those days were so much fun!!!
Today, Addie and I went to Mother Goose Time at the Southlake Library! What a neat experience! We are going to make it a part of our Wednesday schedule! This particular time was for kids that are all around Addie's age. We had song time, story time, and then just fun play time! This weather that we are experiencing is AMAZING! We had a picnic lunch outside and played hard until naptime. Now Addie is sleeping, and Mommy is blogging!

Snow Day!

It is not too often that we get a day like we had today, it SNOWED!!! It was SO beautiful! HUGE snowflakes! We couldn't wait to see what Addie thought about it, and come to find out, she is not too crazy about the snow. I think that she thought she couldn't walk in it, she just stayed in one spot when we put her down. But, she looked mighty cute all bundled up! Daddy made her a big snowman, he wanted to have the biggest on the block! We used Ritz crackers for the eyes, a squash for the nose, and a twig for the mouth, we were kind of low on resources! EVERYONE was outside building snowmen! It was so much fun! I beat Adam home, and had a little bit of a hard time getting in the garage...in moments, a random neighbor, that we had never met, pulled up on a four-wheeler, dug out some snow out of my driveway and helped me get into the garage! Then later, the same neighbor drove up while we were building our snowman and asked if Adam wanted to ride the four-wheeler, which, of course he did! Wasn't that nice? We had a competition with our nextdoor neighbors for who had the best snowman! (I think that we won! :) The snow just brought the whole neighborhood together! What a blast!

Numbering My Days...

I am overwhelmed with gratefulness today. When I step back and look at my life, I have so many things to be thankful for. I have the most amazing husband who desires nothing more than to live a life that mimics the life of Christ. I have a beautiful daughter who brings so much joy and laughter to our everyday lives. I have precious family so close to us, and it thrills my heart as I watch Addie making memories with them. We are so blessed to be a part of an amazing church where we have made such wonderful friends. God is working in the people at Cityview to change hearts, lives, and marriages! What an exciting work to be a part of!
Thanks to a recommendation by my very special friend, Jen, I am reading a thought-altering book! It is called Feminine Appeal by Caroline Mahaney. There is one part that I cannot get out of my mind today. It is a section called "number our days." In Psalm 90, Moses talks about the brevity of life and how fast it passes us by and he prays that God will "teach us to number our days." When we realize the number of our days that we have with our children while they are young, it may cause us to look at the seemingly mundane tasks of motherhood in a different light. I love to check on Addie while she is sleeping and pat her sweet little bottom. Diapers may not be the best part of motherhood, but the day that I pat that bottom and there is no diaper, it will be a sad day. I want to number my days, and I want each one to count. I pray that God will continually teach me to number my days.

What a Great Weekend!!!

It has been such a wonderful weekend! The weather has been so beautiful and Addie loves playing outside SO much! Adam spent the week in Seattle, and we are so glad that he is home!!! He brought Addie this monkey and she walked around with it hanging from her neck all morning! It was so funny!

I realized this week that she actually had enough hair to put in a ponytail, so we have been experimenting with that the last couple of days! It is great until she realizes that she actually has one, and then it is all of about 2 seconds before it is out of her hair!!!

We spent the afternoon and evening with out friends from church, the Pringles. We went to Southlake Town Square, one of my most favorite places! Bella and Addie are only two days apart in age, so they have so much fun together, and they are so cute! It was great to see Jeff and Adam pushing the strollers around, notice there are no children in the strollers! :)There are these cow statues all over the place down there. Not exactly sure what that is about, but the kids love them. Addie is trying to learn that they are not "puppies!" She seems to think that every animal is a puppy right now! Notice in one of the pictures, she is giving the "puppy" some love! :) I love this kid!!!

I love weekends where you can just relax, enjoy your family, and spend time with friends. I want my kids to remember the times that we had so much fun doing nothing at all. Sometimes, when you do nothing much at all is when some of the best memories are made. I thank God for my "doing nothing days!"
