Update on our boy...
So many of you may know this already, but we have had a rough few days in our family. We went to see Jett's pediatrician on Friday for his after hospital visit, everything looked great, but his doctor noticed these tiny dots on the back of his throat that he didn't like. There were two, about the size of a pinhead. He called a specialist, and decided that we needed to go to the hospital to have some tests run to rule out HSV, the Herpes Simplex Virus. This is the virus that comes out in people like fever blisters. In anyone over two months old that is exposed to this, it is no big deal, but in a baby it can be very dangerous. Because Adam and his mom tend to get fever blisters and actually both had one last week, they had to consider him exposed. So, we got to the hospital at 3pm on Friday and Jett went through a rigorous series of tests including a spinal tap, cultures, and blood tests. It was terrible. He is so tiny, but he was so strong and so brave! Our little boy is a fighter! So, they went ahead and started him on an anti-viral medicine on Friday night. We have been waiting since then for test results. The spinal tap, which tested any infection in his brain or spinal fluid, came back negative, PRAISE GOD! And, his blood tests have also come back clear. At this point, all cultures have shown no growth, and if it was HSV, it should have shown up by now. So, as of now, all tests are clear. Even though tests are clear, however, the doctors feel that because he could have been exposed, they want to run a full cycle of anti-viral medication which is a 14 day cycle. We thank God that our little boy is healthy and will go home as if nothing ever happened. But, please be in prayer for us. We miss Addie so much. We just got home from the hospital on Wednesday to just go back in on Friday. My parents have been absolutely amazing and are taking such great care of her, but her mommmy and daddy miss her. Mom brings her up here in the mornings so that we can spend time with her. I will try to keep this updated as we get news from the doctors. God is so faithful. He has showed his grace to us in so many ways. Amazingly, my body is healing very quickly. Jett is eating SO well, and breast feeding is going great. With all of the tears that I have cried in the last three days, it is only by the grace of God that I still even have milk! I have the absolutely most amazing husband ever, who has really taken care of all of us through this. And we have been so blessed already to see the body of Christ step in and make sure that we are taken care of, we have incredible friends. It is amazing, thank you Jesus.

He is precious! And I'm so thankful that everything has worked out and he is healthy!
My goodness! I had no idea! I hope that everything continues to go smoothly. I'll be praying for Jett, but more so for you, Adam, and Addie. Thank goodness your parents are close to take care of her. There's nothing like grandparents when mommy's not around. Keep us posted!
Love you!
Thanks for the update girl! Like Haley, I had no idea you guys were going through this! I will be praying for complete healing for sweet baby Jett, as well as you, Adam & sweet big sissy Addie! Love you! -Jen
Taber, I had NO IDEA! I will start praying that everything is ok and you guys get to take Jett home soon!! I know you miss your little Addie! I'm so close, let me know if I can do anything.
We will be praying for you guys...
Oh no! Bless his heart. I know you guys must be so exhausted. I'm so glad that Addie can come to visit. Hope all continues to go well!
I don't know if you were in there for the spinal tap, but it's much worse for the parents than the baby. If it makes you feel any better, nearly every baby I've ever tapped has fallen asleep during the middle of it. :) I hope you are all home very soon!!
